Oh Canada!

Last night we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown Cleveland.  Very cool place and really neat room.  It was housed in an old bank so it was interesting and different.   So far our HIE stays have exceeded our expectations!

We headed over to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a quick stop.  It was interesting, but not really my thing.  We did see some cool things like Michael Jacksons glove, and an Elvis room that Cheryl loved...oh some Johnny Cash too!   She likes him.

We then got back on the road and headed into Canada via the Peace Bridge.  It was super easy and quick which was nice.  Early on in planning we had decided to stay at The Falls View hotel by Marriott. However, with a slight change in our plan we lost a better rate and ended up changing to where we are tonight which is the Oakes.  Its for sure older and maybe less fancy but it was a heck of a lot cheaper than the other option for the night.  The view is amazing, and honestly its all I care about for the night.

We had a busy day today!  We got all checked in and then went down the incline...um...inclanator?  I don't know the right word, but it was interesting for sure.  We went over to the falls and got tickets for the Behind the Falls.  I love how close it gets you to the falls and you get to see these two portals that are behind the falls which is neat.  We had a little trouble with people that disregarded the line, and would just walk in front of us.  Then we walked down to the Hornblower dock for our boat ride into the mist.  I really miss calling it the Maid of the Mist because that name was just so perfect but I digress.  I think the boat ride is in my top 10 favorite things to do.  Its just really fun to get that close to the falls and you always get soaked in addition.  After our boat tour we decided to see about getting a reservation at the Elements which is right on the brink of the falls!  Oh boy it was amazing! We really enjoyed it and it was worth the extra cost!  Now I am sitting by the window from the 19th floor watching the lights on the falls.  Its hard to get a good shot of the falls all lit up.

Pictures will be posted on Facebook in a bit so check them out!
